4th Grade
Welcome to the fourth grade! I am Mrs. Cohen and I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. It is a previledge to be the fourth grade teacher at Pacific Christian School.
We will be learning about many different and exciting topics this year. In reading, we will journey through novels that takes us back to life as Native Americans, and life as pioneers. In history, our primary focus is learning about California and its unique history. We participate in the “Walk Through California” program where students are actively engaged in learning about the history of California.
We also have exhilarating field trips planned for the fourth grade. We will visit La Purisma to learn about the missions, and we will take a three day trip to Sacramento where we will also visit the train museum, the State Capital, pand for gold and live as true pioneers for 24 hours at Sutter’s Fort.
Some of the projects we will work on in the fourth grade are: building a mission, research reports, building a food chain, and making dioramas.
I am dedicated to do whatever it takes to make this year successful for my students and ensure that they are lifelong learners. Being a parent is a very important role; I want to partner with you in the learning process to maximize your child’s learning potential.
Since we are a Christian school, we will learn about the Trinity: The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. We cannot do anything without Christ as our center. It is vital to know who He is and our connection to Him.
