Here is “What’s up in 6th Grade!” Our class is different from other classes in that we are preparing the 6th graders to enter in junior high. While they may look and act like elementary students, we have a goal set before them to prepare the students for what to expect in 7th and 8th grade.

First, we have two teachers team teaching the 6th grade. This gives the students the experience of multiple teachers teaching multiple subjects. In the morning, Mrs. Hays begins each day with prayer and Bible. She then goes on to teach spelling, language, penmanship, reading and math. Most of that is done before recess, believe it or not.

Mrs. Arkinson comes in the late part of the morning and also teaches math as well as science, history, and PE. The students also have the opportunity to move on to a faster paced math class, preparing them to enter into Algebra 1 in 7th grade and geometry in 8th grade. Regardless of which teacher is in the classroom, feel rest assured that the Lord Jesus Christ is being glorified at all times and in all situations.
