Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Corrine Klein and I have taught third grade at Pacific Christian for 19 years. I am looking forward to working with you during the coming year! Third grade is a time of many new things-new friends, new concepts, and new responsibilities. It is also a time of transition. Students are responsible for more homework and studying. I am thankful for your help at home which will really make the difference in your child’s success.
We will be covering many exciting topics this year in third grade:
- Bible: Life of Christ and our part in His work here on Earth
- Penmanship: Formation in cursive writing
- Math: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements, probability, and problem-solving
- Language: Grammar and creative writing
- Spelling: Proofreading and dictation of our spelling words
- History: Character studies of various national & local historical figures
- Science: Life and Earth Science
- Conduct: Learning to behave the way that God would want us to
- Work & Study Habits: Learning to be responsible for assignments and due dates while striving for excellence in our work
I have several fun field trips this year with more details to follow:
- Cachuma Lake bird-watching boat ride and hike
- Santa Maria Historical Tour
- Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History- Chumash lab & planetarium
