Kindergarten
Hello,
I’m Mrs. Zahn and I teach kindergarten here at Pacific Christian School. My class is filled with lots of fun and educational activities. I have been a kindergarten teacher a PCS for 4 years and have been teaching school for 8 years. I attend Pacific Christian Church and love to be a part of this ministry. It is always a blessing to share Jesus with my students. I have a truly blessed job. I believe every child can develop of love of education when given the opportunity to learn in a positive learning environment.
My favorite Bible verse this year is; “But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purpose of his heart through all generations. “ Psalm 33:11
In our kindergarten program we use Abeka reading and phonics. This program provides a wonderful opportunity for kindergarteners to learn to read through much phonic practice. The reading program is individually assigned and many of our students go onto reading 1st6 and 2nd grade books through our Scholastic Reading Counts program toward the end of the term.
Our math program is nationally as well as California standard based. We also do science, social studies, art, music, physical education and computer lab. Our students love all the different types of learning opportunities in our kindergarten program.
Some of the exciting activities we do include: 6th grade big buddies, 2 musical programs, field trips, career day, chapel plays, taking home our class stuffed beaver for the weekend, 100th day celebration, gingerbread houses, and many creative art projects.
