Other Fundraisers
In addition to our Dinner Auction, Quest, we have two all-school fundraisers.
The Jog-a-Thon is held in the fall. Students gather pledges for the amount of laps they will run. The track is adjusted according to age group so that the students can comfortably run 20 to 30 laps in the time allotted. If you are going to pledge, be warned, a fast runner in good shape can run more than 30 laps!
We have a Fireworks booth in the summer, for July 4th. Parents run this booth, signing up for shifts as they are able. A portion of the proceeds is set aside to contribute to the Family Trip Accounts of those that sign up to help.
Both of these events contribute a base amount to the general fund. A portion of the proceeds (5%) is donated to the Jacob Knight Scholarship fund. Proceeds which exceed the budgeted amounts are used for special purchases (i.e. computer equipment, playground supplies, library books).
There are also other fundraisers throughout the year for special purposes. The Jr. High, especially, works to raise funds for the Washington D.C. trip. These funds are wholly set aside for the purpose they were raise for.
