Scholastic Events
Every year, PCS participates in special scholastic events that enhance our curriculum.
Competitive Events:
- Math Olympics - students compete against other schools throughout the Central Coast
- Spelling Bee – students compete against other schools throughout the Central Coast
- Science Fair - students learn about the scientific method through hands-on projects of their choice
- “Walk-Through” programs help students understand the Ancient World, the American Revolution and California history
In addition to competition, we also engage our students in interactive field trips:
- 4th grade – Sacramento and Sutter’s Fort, often our students get to participate in a Sutter’s Fort live-in program, complete with period dress and fort activities
- 5th grade – Oso Flaco Lake and PCPA Theaterfest
- 6th grade – Science Camp
- 8th grade – one week of U.S. History and Government through a trip to Washington, D.C.
