School Profile

Pacific Christian School is located in the county of Santa Barbara and on the border of Santa Maria and Orcutt.  The school site is located at 3435 Santa Maria Way, Santa Maria, CA 93455.  Our campus sits on a property between 12-13 acres with ample space for classrooms, offices, parking, playground, multi-purpose room, sanctuary, etc.  The grounds are nicely landscaped, and the buildings well maintained.

The school is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and The Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  This dual accreditation means you can trust that PCS is meeting and exceeding the standards of excellence required by both accrediting commissions.

The purpose of PCS is first Evangelical – To reach the heart of each child and his/her family with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Second, Educational – To teach the mind and soul of each child, providing a quality, Christ-centered academic environment. PCS is a ministry of Pacific Christian Center (PCC).  PCC is denominationally, Assembly of God. The church offers tremendous support to its Preschool, Elementary and Middle school.

School enrollment for the 22/23 school year was 319 students K-7th grade.  An eighth grade has been added for the 23/24 school year for a total enrollment of 391 students.  During the 2021/22 school year 257 students were enrolled and in 2020/21, 188.  PCS has an average class size of 25 students and can enroll up to 30 students per class.  Please feel free to call the school office at (805) 934-1253 to see if there is an opening for your student.  We would love to welcome you to our PCS family. PCS is coeducational and offers a strong academic program that includes daily instruction in Bible, English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.  In addition, students are offered learning opportunities in Computer, Music, Library, and Physical Education throughout the year. Every student is issued a Chromebook so they can be trained on all the applications available in Google Classroom.
An active parent community raises money for the school during the year, helping to fund the library, play equipment, computers, and other developmental resources for students.  Our immediate goal is to develop a high-quality Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) through the ongoing evaluation required by a rigorous Self Study process.  In the next five years, PCS will strive to bring its students into the top ten percentile rank in reading and mathematics. If successful in continuing to raise Standardized Achievement Test scores in all grades to the top tenth percentile rank, PCS will seek nomination to the United States Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Program.

The school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, athletics, and other school-administered programs.

I went to Pacific Christian school from preschool to eighth grade. Caring teachers, a great spiritual emphasis, a safe place to grow, and a solid foundation academically. When I transitioned to public high school I was more than prepared.
